Who The Hell We Are
RidEway. San Francisco born, Bay Area hardened. We’re the boots on the ground at https://rideway.site, shaking up the ride game that Uber and Lyft thought they owned. No corporate robots here.
Comments
You mouth off in our comments, we collect your data — name, IP, browser stuff — strictly to crush spam. An anonymous hash of your email might hit Gravatar just to check if you’re a real person. Once we approve your rant, your profile pic goes public. Don’t like it? Don’t comment.
Media
Listen up. Don’t upload photos loaded with hidden GPS data (EXIF). Anyone cruising our site can download your images and pull your exact location. San Francisco is small enough without you broadcasting your spot to every psycho online.
Cookies
We drop cookies to make your life easier, not to spy on you. Comment cookies save your details for a year so you don’t have to type your crap twice. Login cookies vanish in two days, or two weeks if you hit “Remember Me”. You log out, the cookies die. Simple. Edit a post, a cookie marks your trail for a day. No personal stash, just business.
Embedded Crap From Other Sites
Our pages might feature videos or articles from other sites. Treat that stuff like you’re on their turf — because you are. Those sites track you, throw cookies at you, and monitor your every click, especially if you’re logged into them. We don’t control their greed.
Who Gets Your Data
Nobody. Except if you ask for a password reset — then your IP gets slapped into that email. That’s it. We don’t sell your info to some shady startup in SoMa.
How Long We Hold Your Data
Drop a comment? It stays here forever along with its metadata. We do that to fast-track your follow-up comments instead of throwing them in a spam queue. For registered drivers and users, you control your profile. Edit it, delete it. Only your username is locked. Site admins can peek at it but won’t mess with you.
Your Rights Over Your Damn Data
Got an account or left comments? You can demand an exported file of every scrap of personal data we keep on you. You can also tell us to wipe it all clean. That doesn’t cover data we’re forced to keep for legal battles, taxes, or security crackdowns.
Where Your Data Ships Off To
Visitor comments might get blasted through an automated spam detection service. Standard procedure to keep this place from turning into a dumpster fire.
